The Sahaba accepted Islam out of fear and Sahabi is someone who saw the sanctified Prophetصَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ and believed in him as well as passed away as Muslim. The skeptics who just saw the sanctified Prophetصَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ in Madina Munawarah and Mecca Mukarramah are not considered as Sahaba /Companions.
