The reason for asking the questions was his great desire to resemble the Blessed Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم in his shroud and the day of his passing away, so that in the same way that he had followed the Guide to the Path of Salvation, the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم during his life, he could also do so at the time of death. صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الْحَبِیۡب صَلَّى الـلّٰـہُ تَعَالٰى عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه عَزَّوَجَلَّ! The Leader of the Believers, Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهُ possessed such a great treasure of perfect and unrivalled love for the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! The condition in which he رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهُ spent his days and nights perfectly shows his great love for the Beloved and Blessed Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
After the apparent passing of the Noble Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, his life was overcome with grief. He رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهُ found it extremely difficult to spend the days and nights of the remainder of his life (approximately 2 years and 7 months) without the Noble Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and he رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهُ would remain sorrowful in remembrance of the Beloved and Blessed Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
