Secret of Earning More Reward (Sawāb)

5. Intentions for Wuū

·         I intend to perform Wuū in order to keep the commandment of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ.[1]

·         I will recite ‘بِسۡـمِ اللّٰهِ وَ الۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰهِ’ before commencing.

·         Following the Sunnaĥ I will use a Miswāk to clean my teeth and rinse my mouth to attain purity for Żikr and alāt-‘Alan-Nabī.

·         I will avoid Makrūĥ acts and C wasting water.

·         I will perform all Farāi, Sunan, and Mustaabbāt (desirable) deeds. C I will recite alāt-‘Alan-Nabī whilst washing each part.

·         I will recite this Du’ā[2] after Wuū. C Upon the completion of Wuū, whilst looking towards the sky, I will recite Kalimaĥ Shaĥādaĥ and Sūraĥ Al-Qadr.

·         In the end, I will repent of my sins for spiritual Wuū.

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب        صَلَّى اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

[1] In anafī jurisprudence Wuū is valid even without the intention but there will be no reward for it.

Make me amongst those who repent abundantly and include me amongst pure people. (Sunan-ut-Tirmiżī, vol. 1, pp. 121, Ḥadīš 55)
