Secret of Earning More Reward (Sawāb)

10. Intentions for sermon (Khubaĥ)

·         I will deliver the Friday sermon for the pleasure of      Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ; first I will answer the Ażān before the sermon sitting on the Mimbar [a pulpit-like raised structure] at the left side of the arch. Thereafter, I will stand with my back to the Ka’baĥ and recite ‘اَعُوۡذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ الشَّيۡطٰنِ الرَّجِيۡمِ’ slowly and deliver my sermon in Arabic.

·         In obedience of the Sunnaĥ, I will sit on the podium for a while between both the sermons; during this sitting I will make Du’ā (because this is one of the specific times when prayers are answered).

·         I will recite the second sermon in a low voice as compared to the first sermon because this is Sunnaĥ.

11. Intentions for drinking water

·         I will gain strength to be able to worship and to struggle for earning livelihood through fair and permitted means.

·         I will not allow even a single drop of water to be wasted whilst pouring and drinking.

·         Holding the glass in my right hand, I will sit and see the water in the light and having recited ‘بِسۡـمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحۡـمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ’, I will drink it in three breaths.
