· I will recite ‘اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰهِ’ after drinking the water. C I will not throw away even a single drop of water remaining in the glass.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
· I will perform Wuḍū before and after eating my food (i.e., washing both hands to the wrists).
· I will gain strength to be able to worship and to struggle for earning livelihood through fair means.[1]
· With the intention of acting upon Sunnaĥ, I will sit at a dining-mat laid on the ground according to the Sunnaĥ and recite ‘بِسۡـمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحۡـمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ’, and other Du’ās. I will then take little morsels [of my meal] using three fingers and chew the food properly.
· Whilst eating I will recite ‘يَـا وَاجِدُ’ and ‘بِسۡـمِ اللّٰهِ’ before and ‘اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰهِ’ after every morsel.
· I will pick up any fallen grains, etc., from the dining-mat and eat them.
[1] It is better to eat less than one’s appetite/hunger; one can also gain strength to worship by eating only as much as his appetite demands. However, over-eating makes one lazy in worship, inclines him to commit sins, and causes stomach problems.
